Product Overview

Hiboy Max: A Commuter's Compact Companion

Design and Build Quality:

Right off the bat, Hiboy Max impresses with its streamlined design. Every aspect feels thoughtfully crafted for the urban rider. The frame is solid, reassuring me of its durability during daily rides. Assembly was a breeze; I had it ready to roll in no time. Special mention to the folding mechanism - sturdy and reliable, making storage and transport hassle-free.

Overall Performance:

Navigating through city streets on this e-scooter is an absolute delight. It zips through traffic, offering a level of convenience cars can't match. Though not a speed demon, the 30 kph top speed felt exhilarating when darting down open stretches. Climbing hills at a moderate pace without breaking a sweat was satisfying, but I did notice it slowing down when tackling steeper gradients. Braking was responsive and reliable, giving me confidence in stop-and-go scenarios.

The Motors & Battery:

The 350w motor packed enough punch to propel me forward with gusto on flat terrain. In the hustle of city life, the battery held up admirably, keeping true to the 27 km range promised. However, I felt the pinch when using lights and scaling inclines - those activities did drain power faster than expected.

The Wheels & Braking:

Riding on solid tires meant maintenance worries flew out the window, but comfort took a hit on rougher paths. Although the suspension softened some jolts, vibrations from uneven surfaces were still noticeable. Braking was one area where Hiboy Max shone; the disc brakes brought me to a quick halt without feeling jerky.

Overall Handling:

Maneuvering through crowded sidewalks and narrow lanes came naturally with this e-scooter. Its handling felt intuitive and agile - whether I was weaving through pedestrians or taking sharp corners, control remained in my grasp.

Maintenance and Repair:

Maintenance has been minimal thanks to its robust design. Unfortunately, when issues arose with a squeaky wheel, reaching out to Hiboy's customer service proved fruitful - they quickly sent out replacement parts which were easy enough for me to install.

Additional Features:

Night rides were safe due to bright lights ensuring visibility. The absence of an app requirement simplified operation while automatic cruise control was a nifty addition that eased long journeys.

Rating:

7/10 - While Hiboy Max offers a blend of solid performance and convenience for city commuters, room for improvement in hill-climbing capability and ride smoothness influenced my rating.

The Hiboy Max Electric scooter is definitely a sturdy and choice you’re looking for a scooter that can hold its own in face of challenging weather conditions. It offers a lot of cool features that were not available in scooters before. Such as the mobile app and the new and more powerful 350W engine. I recommend the Hiboy Max, especially if you’re speed demon and prefer a fast commute to your desired destination.

A relatively inexpensive scooter with a respectable top speed, convenience, and decent travel radius

Out of the box, this machine is fast, has a long runtime and recharges in short order. Sweetening the package is a cost of admission that is manageable in comparison to its peers. However, in the course of our testing, this machine began to show some wear and tear not seen on other models in our review. Namely, the already rough-riding solid rubber tires developed flat spots following the brake tests. That said, we are quite hard on these machines and many will find this one to exceed expectations at the asking price.

For $419, the Hiboy MAX presents a somewhat respectable electric scooter in an already competitive market of budget scooters. The performance (speed and range) on offer is solid and rivals that of more expensive Segway models. It also has the sleek aesthetic to match that’s not only durable but loaded with features including, deck lighting, a mobile app, and an IP54 water-resistance rating. Nonetheless, there are better scooters in the budget bracket. Scooters like the Turboant X7 Pro and GoTrax G4 are similarly priced yet outperform the MAX in every department, especially ride quality.
