Riding around town on the SoFlow Air Carbon has been largely enjoyable – its agility and ease-of-use stood out most prominently. This scooter seems to find that sweet spot between convenience and functionality that urban riders will surely appreciate.

As an enthusiast of electric transportation, especially the more compact and versatile kind like e-scooters and e-skateboards, I was quite keen to try out the SoFlow Air Carbon. This lightweight e-scooter seemed like a perfect fit for those looking for a hassle-free commute or a quick run around town.
The SoFlow Air Carbon's design breathes portability – it's as if every curve and fold screams 'take me along'. With its carbon fiber body, this e-scooter not only looks stylish but also boasts an exceptionally light form factor. During my week with it, carrying it upstairs, tucking it under a café table, or popping it into the trunk of my car was a cinch. Assembly was straightforward right out of the box; I had it ready to go in no time with minimal effort.
Performance-wise, the SoFlow Air Carbon met most of my daily needs. Zipping through bike lanes at its top speed of 25 kph felt liberating, especially on those clear morning commutes. When faced with hills, the 300w motor didn't back down easily – it managed inclines with surprising gusto for such a compact unit. However, I noticed that while acceleration is smooth, reaching the top speed takes a tad longer than some beefier models I've tried.
Speaking of power, let's talk about that 300w motor and accompanying battery setup. For everyday use in urban environments with occasional slight inclines, the motor provided enough oomph to keep things interesting. In terms of battery life, I found it slightly underwhelming as my real-world range fell short of the advertised 21 km – more like around 16 km before I felt the urge to scout for an outlet. Despite this discrepancy, for short commutes and errand runs, battery performance sufficed.
Now onto the wheels and brakes – essential elements for rider safety and comfort. The solid tires eliminated any concern about punctures or maintenance typically associated with air-filled ones. However, they did transmit more road vibrations than their pneumatic cousins would have. As for braking, responses were reliable though I'd have preferred a bit more bite during high-speed stops.
Handling on various surfaces revealed how much fun this e-scooter can be. Smooth pavement rides were an absolute pleasure; turning and weaving through pedestrian traffic felt intuitive and secure thanks to its nimble nature. When terrain got rougher though, comfort did take a hit due to those solid tires and lack of suspension.
Maintaining the SoFlow Air Carbon was low-key – no tire pressure checks or worrying about flats here. While I didn't face any severe issues during my test week that warranted repair, researching showed parts availability could be better and direct brand support seemed hit-or-miss based on other riders' experiences.
Extras like an intuitive display kept me informed on speed and battery status without distraction. Unfortunately, despite its usefulness during daytime rides, nighttime visibility wasn't great due to modest headlight strength.
Given my experiences over the week – balancing performance against a few shortcomings – I'd rate the SoFlow Air Carbon at a solid 7/10.
